Member at Large Job Description 

Overview 

The GEM Club is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors as a Member at Large. This role is crucial in supporting the club’s mission to empower middle school girls by fostering leadership, building healthy relationships, and inspiring confidence. As a Member at Large, you will bring valuable insights, participate actively in board discussions, and help shape the direction of our programs and events. 

Key Responsibilities 

General Board Participation: 

? Attend and actively participate in all board meetings. 

? Contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes. 

? Serve on committees or task forces as needed. 

? Act as an ambassador for The GEM Club, promoting our mission and programs. 

Site Visits: 

? Attend GEM Club meetings, 2 per 10 week session. 

? Provide written feedback on each site visit to the board. 

Event Participation: 

? Attend 80% of all GEM Club events, including girls' nights, community service events, and fundraising activities. 

? If unable to meet the 80% attendance requirement, Members at Large have the option to buy out of events for $100 per event. 

Fundraising and Financial Commitment: 

? Support the club’s financial health by contributing to fundraising efforts. 

? Make a meaningful financial contribution of $1000 per term, with flexible payment options: 

? In full 

? Monthly installments ($83 per month for 12 months) 

? Quarterly payments ($250 every 4 months)

? Ensure the $1000 contribution is paid in full within the first year of your term.

? Skills or expertise relevant to the club's programs and goals (e.g., leadership, event planning, fundraising, marketing). 

? Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

? Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

? Willingness to dedicate time and energy to the organization’s success. 

Time Commitment 

? Attend bi-monthly board meetings. 

? Attend 2 GEM Club meetings per 10 week session. 

? Commit to attending 80% of all GEM Club events. 

? Dedicate additional time for committee work, event planning, and fundraising activities as needed.
