Dogtopia of Summerville Celebrates Fall While Raising Funds for a Third Service Dog for a Veteran
Monthlong lineup includes Veteran tributes, community fundraising, fall festivities and a Halloween costume contest

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (September 2026) — Dogtopia of Summerville is turning October into a month of fall fun with a purpose: alongside its lineup of seasonal activities for local dogs and their families, the Summerville dog daycare is continuing its efforts to help fund its third service dog for a local Veteran.

The monthlong celebration at Dogtopia of Summerville, located at 619 Myers Road, will feature an Autumn Festival, sports-themed crafts, Veteran appreciation activities, a fundraiser, a photo party and a weeklong Halloween costume contest.

“We love any excuse to celebrate with our dogs, but we also want to use the activities happening at Dogtopia to bring attention to causes that matter to our community,” said Jackie Cotone, owner of Dogtopia of Summerville. “Our goal of helping fund a third service dog for a Veteran gives our October celebration a bigger purpose.”

October events celebrating Veterans at Dogtopia of Summerville:

Veteran Thank-You Cards — October 8
Dogtopia families will have the opportunity to write thank-you cards expressing their appreciation to Veterans.

Superhero Photo Party — October 15
Pups will pose for a special superhero-themed photo party celebrating Veteran heroes.

Positive Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser — October 26
Dogtopia invites the community to help grow its Positive Pumpkin Patch through donations supporting a third service dog for a Veteran.

The October calendar reflects Dogtopia of Summerville’s broader focus on enabling dogs to change our world through the Dogtopia Foundation. Since opening three years ago on October 8, 2023, Dogtopia of Summerville dog parents and the Summerville community have raised $12,000 and funded two service dogs -- Rosie and Thor -- for military Veterans with PTSD.
